Project One: One Love, One Mic, One Song / From Fidel Rodriguez
Blessings Everyone, could you please spread the word to youth about this project I am working on. Looking for youth ages 14 - 18 who are rappers, singers, song writers, beat makers, poets, or musicians. The will participate in some conscious raising and music producing workshops in Phase 1 and after applying for Phase 2 with a conscious music submission they have created in the form of a song, poem or music composition, they could be selected to work with music producers and artists as well as some Grammy Award winning producers and artists in April 2009. Calling on L.A. County youth ages 14-18 -- Rappers, Mcees, Singers, Songwriters, Poets, Beat Makers, and Musicians -- We Want Your Songs!
Project: One aims to promote social justice through music and encourage LA County youth to speak out against racism, intolerance and promote peace.
What: Project: One, a county-wide search for musically talented youth, ages 14-18.
Who: Calling on all Rappers, Mcees, Singers, Songwriters, Poets, Beat Makers, and Musicians.
When: Phase 1: "Music and Dialogue" sessions, where youth learn the power of using knowledge, consciousness and life's experience into the music they produce. Hosted by Human Relation Specialist and professional recording artists and producers. You must attend at least one Phase 1 session to apply and qualify for Phase 2. All sessions are FREE.
*January 24th and 31st. 2009
*February 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, 2009
*10AM - 1PM / 9AM Registration
Phase 2: Songwriters' Workshop, where selected students will create songs with Grammy Award winning Artist and Producers to inspire the ideals of understanding, mutual respect and human dignity.
*Saturday April 18th, 2009 Time TBA
Phase 3: Project One Concert, featuring music written and performed by youth from Project One and special guest artist performances.
